“Absolutely fantastic fish and chip shop. The food is amazing, portion sizes are spot on will try the Chinese next. Unlike some restaurants you can have to much choice and feel overwhelmed but hatherleigh fish bar has this spot on as well with just the right amount of choice. Really worth the money. The girls behind the counter are always happy and helpful. Only one draw back is the paperbags that they use as can brake before you get home. But if you take a plastic bag with you your laughing. But will definitely carry on using them. Keep up the good work team”

A proper small-town chippy -- with a twist.

Hatherleigh Fish Bar has been trading under new management since summer 2023. The shop at 9 Bridge Street is a traditional Devon fish & chip shop -- but alongside the cod, haddock, chips and pea fritters, there's a full Chinese takeaway menu. Same kitchen, same phone, same Bridge Street.

The FSA last inspected us on 30 April 2024 and rated us Good across the board -- Good for food hygiene, Good for cleanliness, Good for management. On Google we sit at 4.2 stars across 110 reviews, with the counter team getting regular name-checks for being happy and helpful.
